POSITION DESCRIPTION: The GOD'S CHILD Project has an excellent opportunity for a contract grant writer, specifically looking at USAID and other funding opportunities. The primary focus of this role is to raise funds to support our charity programs.

The successful candidate for this position is excited by the challenges of grant writing, not-for-profit fund-raising, multi-tasking, and developing new granting opportunities.

This can be a part-time or full-time position. This decision will be made based on individual candidate discussion.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A successful candidate will have the following:

  • Understanding of GCP charity programs, beneficiaries, and goals
  • Knowledge of research techniques for fundraising prospect research
  • Ability to research granting opportunities and potential funders
  • Previous experience with grant writing and a proven ability to securing grants from foundations, corporations, and government programs
  • Dependable work ethic, accountability, and integrity
  • Detail-oriented and proactive approach to managing time-sensitive and competing workloads – skilled in prioritizing and time management
  • Emotionally intelligent philosophy, including the ability to both ask for/receive and offer assistance or leadership when and where needed
  • Ability to be comfortable with and enjoy cross-team collaboration
  • Ability to work remotely and in a team environment
  • Openness to constructive criticism
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive proposals
  • Strong editing skills

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft proposals with compelling storytelling and data-driven needs statements
  • Responsible for all parts of the grant submission process from research to final reports
  • Maintain organized records of foundations and application including: proposals, reports, communications to/from foundations, organization contacts, etc.
  • Research and identify potential new funding sources

USAID Experience Preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
