Prep Cook / Catering Assistant Responsibilities

  • Take tenants’ orders and place orders with the kitchen
  • Serve food and beverages at mealtimes
  • Transport food from main kitchen to campus dining rooms
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen/dining room areas
  • Wash and put away dishes and serving/cooking equipment
  • Prepare and pack home delivered meals for community clients
  • Update/maintain menu boards for tenants
  • Prepare and serve food according to menu to meet tenants’ nutritional needs
  • Assist with ordering food/supplies as needed
  • Maintain existing inventory of food/supplies by sorting, labeling and dating
  • Maintain a clean food production area through proper sanitization and food/waste disposal
  • Complete inventory reports/records as needed

Qualifications


Prep Cook / Catering Assistant Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Previous experience in food preparation or work with the elderly preferred
  • Ability to work as a team member and resolve problems constructively
  • One year of instructional food service or equivalent food prep/cooking experience
  • Basic math and computer skills
