What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maitre D position at The Goodkind Group?
The Goodkind Hospitality Group is currently supporting our client, a prestigious luxury hotel situated on the Upper East Side, in their search for a Maitre D. This role requires full availability from Tuesday to Saturday, and we expect the hourly wage to range from $28 to $31. This is an ongoing temporary position with the potential to become permanent.
Who are we looking for?
We are in search of a candidate with supervisory experience, either as a supervisor or floor manager, who has at least 3-5 years of experience as a Maitre D managing a busy reservation system. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the seating arrangements and must be highly proficient in the Open Table reservations application while also building excellent relationships with guests. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar Maitre D role is required.
The perfect candidate will have significant experience as a maître'd or floor manager in a luxury hotel, bustling restaurant, lounge, or nightclub, with at least 3 years in a high-end hospitality environment. Our client seeks a natural leader who is polished, composed, and communicates effectively both in person and through email. Above all, they should be a problem solver with experience managing a busy entrance and catering to demanding guests. Familiarity with restaurant reservation systems like RESY or Open Table is essential, along with the ability to optimize seating arrangements. Experience in nightlife settings is a bonus. The current requirement is for Tuesday through Saturday evenings, with some flexibility to accommodate time-off requests.
