What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security position at The Gospel Mission?
Position Summary: Under the Director of Men’s Residents, this position is responsible for keeping all of the Gospel Mission’s premises safe and secure during night hours.

Position assures that the nightly operations of this ministry meets the mission, safety, and well-being of all residents.
Reports to: Director of Men’s Residents
Exempt/ Non Exempt: Non Exempt
Required: Must be willing to sign the Gospel Mission Statement of Faith; and Marriage and Sexuality Statement, and must be a member of a local Bible believing church.
Position Responsibilites:
1. Makes sure that all of the Gospel Mission premises are safe and secure
a. Completes hourly checks of Men’s Residents building (Main building, parking lot, Men with Children shelter)
b. Completes hourly checks of Women/ Women with Children building
c. Completes hourly checks of Donation Center
d. Completes hourly checks of Clothing Center
2. Checks in residents who work overnights
a. Performs breathalyzer for all residents who work night hours
b. Dismisses any resident who fails a breathalyzer
3. Enforce rules and document any issues with residents
a. Enforce all night rules with residents (bed time, food, drinks)
b. Document any behavioral issues with residents
c. Communicate any issues with residents with Director of Men’s Ministry (Only Director of Men’s Residents has the authority to dismiss a resident, unless its alcohol, drug, or fighting related)
4. Maintains safe environment for all residents
a. Provides a counsel to any resident who is disruptive
b. UA any resident who may be under the influence of a drug
Education and Experience
1. 1 years experience in operating security systems and emergency equipment
2. 1 years experience in quickly solving problems as they arise
Skills/License/Certifications
· Basic knowledge for computers
· Valid driver’s license
Physical Demands/ Work Environment
· Office (Primarily sitting at desk; walking, bending)
· Indoors (Ability to walk steps, controlled climate)
· Outdoors (Ability to walk steps)
· May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents or customers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
