Position Summary:

As a Junior Bookkeeper/Accountant at The Gould Group, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our fast-growing energy services company. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and IT, you will assist in various accounting tasks, including payroll administration, accounts payable and receivable management, financial reporting, and tax compliance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Payroll and Benefits: Assist in processing payroll for employees, including maintaining accurate records, calculating wages, and processing benefits.
  • Handle Customer Billing and Accounts Receivable: Support the billing process by generating invoices, reconciling accounts, and following up on overdue payments to ensure timely collections.
  • Manage Vendor Payments and Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and prepare payments while maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring timely payments.
  • Conduct Project Job Costing: Assist in tracking project costs, labor expenses, and materials to ensure accurate project accounting and profitability analysis.
  • Prepare Financial Reports and Management Reports: Assist in preparing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, as well as management reports to provide insights into business performance.
  • Construct Annual Budgets for all Companies & Divisions: Support the budgeting process by gathering data, analyzing trends, and assisting in the development of annual budgets for different companies and divisions within the organization.
  • Compile Monthly Consolidated Financial Statements: Assist in consolidating financial data from multiple entities and divisions to prepare monthly consolidated financial statements.
  • Draft Various Monthly Management Reports: Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for management to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Oversee Multi-State Sales Taxes, Multi-State Income Taxes, and Federal Income Taxes: Assist in managing sales tax compliance, income tax filings, and other tax-related activities across multiple states and jurisdictions.

Successful Candidates will Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
  • Strong computer technology and software skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction or job-cost accounting.

Pay: $50,700.70 - $61,058.90 per year
