What are the responsibilities and job description for the In House Floral Designer position at The Grand Lady?
In House Florist - The Grand Lady
About us:
Grand Lady Floral, nestled within The Grand Lady, Austin’s premier wedding venue, is a floral studio committed to delivering sustainable flowers to our clients from our on-site flower farm. Our work includes crafting and delivering wedding floral packages, hosting on-site events and preparing CSA and farmer’s market bouquets. We are seeking a talented individual who is passionate about floristry, committed to hard work, unafraid of getting their hands dirty, and loves connecting with people.
The Opportunity:
In the Spring of 2021, what started out as a memorial garden for Katie’s dad, has become a labor of love for our little family and blossomed into a magical little place beyond our wildest dreams. After months of quietly planning, growing, learning (failing) and building, this journey led to the creation of Grand Lady Floral, situated on a half-acre secret garden surrounded by oak trees. With a focus on organic and regenerative farming practices, we are thrilled to bring expertly arranged, local flowers to the community. In 2024, we are looking to scale Grand Lady Floral and expand to offering our flowers to clients getting married in and around the Austin area and corporate clients.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate has experience in floral design, sales proposal creation, client management, freelancer management, and event execution. You’ll also be involved in social media, flower farm events and growing Grand Lady Floral. You should be excited about creating best-in-class event florals, prioritizing sustainability by utilizing flowers grown on site at The Grand Lady, and forming joyful relationships with clients and wedding professionals. You must also be self-motivated, reliable, and excited to build a new business. Floral design proficiency and business acumen are a must.
