POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the VP of Childcare Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the compliance of all state and local childcare license regulations, new hire requirements, and ongoing training standards. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Serve as the hub and resource for East Tennessee Region of YMCA organizations[KB2] for all DHS/DOE childcare licensing to include startups, questions, troubleshooting, compliance, and education.

· Ensures compliance with state and local regulations and that program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.

· Maintains organized licensure documentation and records for the department.

· Administers new hire interviews, reference checks, new hire paperwork, onboarding plans, and training per internal policy and licensing requirements.

· Oversees staff and site licensing compliance, which includes but not limited to, staff TNPAL account compliance, records and compliance, prosolutions accounts, CPR compliance, Train TN, keeping records of staff training requirements, medical reports, training hours as childcare licensing dictates and ensuring each staff is up tot date, ensuring staff onboarding plans are completed in a timely manner though training staff.

· Oversees staff training requirements through platforms such as Great Academy, YMCA LCDC, and Praesidium requirements.[KB3] [RW4]

· Oversees licensing reports compliance for all DHS and DOE sites, which includes monthly change reports, annual reports, child safety and injury reporting, new licensing certificates, and licensing boards at sites.

· Work at afterschool site regularly until closure to ensure licensing requirements are met or completing licensing checks at other YMCA facility.

· Develops and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, school administration, volunteers and other similar organizations while maintaining confidentiality of information related to parents and children.

· Assist department directors and VP on projects and assignments.

· Builds and maintains relationships with community organizations and establishes functional partnerships to meet community needs and support the Y mission.

· Models’ relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

· In conjunction with marketing staff, promote and market programs and services.

· Follows and models all YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.

· Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.

· Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Associate degree in education, child development, child and family studies or related field

2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in childcare.

3. YMCA Team Leader completed or willingness to complete.

4. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire date and Child Abuse Prevention training along with other safety training assigned within 30 days of hire date.

6. Detail oriented, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multitask.

7. Exceptional interpersonal, public relations and communication skills.

8. Proficient with standard office technology, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and must demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new programs and functions.

9. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from various social and economic segments of the community with empathy.

10. Flexible schedule – occasional nights, weekends, and varying hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with childcare licensing requirements – tracking, documentation, administering, etc.

· Regularly required to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing with children and adults.

· Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
