We are seeking a talented Club Manager to lead our team The Grille at Waterview Restaurant and Port Jefferson Country Club in Port Jefferson, NY.

Position: Club Manager

Direct Report: Director of Food and Beverage

Indirect Report: Port Jefferson Country Club Manager

Scope:

Provide property level leadership through motivation and development of people to achieve objectives effectively and profitably. To manage and control all areas of the property, including food production, service delivery, care and cleanliness of property.

Position Requirements:

  • Substantial private club or hospitality industry experience with management and supervisory experience and progressive professional advancement.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management
  • Understanding of laws and regulations related to clubs and facilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures daily operations run smoothly and effectively in compliance with the operational standards of the company.
  • Plans and communicate the daily course of action for the property.
  • Develops and implements long-range (strategic) and annual (business) plans, operating reports, forecasts and budgets.
  • Adheres to all Company policies, revise and retrain when they become ineffective.
  • Maintains contact with members and helps to assure maximum member satisfaction.
  • Receives and resolves complaints from club members, guests and employees. • Assures that the club’s preventive maintenance and energy management programs are on schedule and in use.
  • Assists in the planning of facility improvements, remodeling, construction and repair, and collaborates with Director of Facilities in managing contractors.
  • Participates in ongoing facility inspections throughout the club to assure that cleanliness, maintenance, safety and other standards are consistently attained. Serves as a departmental manager in that manager’s absence.
  • Attends management and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Interacts with members answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services and cleanliness and showing the club facilities to visitors.
  • Serves as a club representative within the community.
  • Counsels with other managers and employees about employee grievances and complaints; directs problem correction where possible.
  • Monitors labor; evaluates scheduled and actual labor hours and costs. • Researches new products and develops an analysis of their costs and benefits. • Oversees daily club operations.
  • Reviews all accidents and completes accident reports.
  • Monitors safety conditions and employees’ conformance with safety procedures; updates emergency plans and procedures and assures that effective training for these programs is conducted in all departments.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines.
