The GRP Short Term Disability (STD) Analyst, primarily investigates claims to determine if the insured person qualifies for Short Term Disability, STAT or Paid Family Leave benefits and works with them on a treatment plan to return to work as soon as responsibly possible. The GRP STD Analyst supports our mission of helping our customers rebuild their lives after an unexpected event or illness happens while following corporate claim standards, policies and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.

Start Date: 07/11/2022

Training Hours: 8am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday EST

Length of Training: 6 weeks

Work Hours After Training: Core business hours

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with internal and external customers to retrieve and relay information relevant to short-term disability claims

• Provide exceptional customer service using professional written and verbal communication skills

• Gather information, make sound decisions and draw appropriate conclusions using critical thinking and mathematical aptitude

• Utilize business acumen and technical expertise to make ethical decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment with management oversight

• Maintain a dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers

• Help to create a positive team environment that achieves Group Benefit Claims Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 years of experience providing quality customer service is required

• 1 years of claims experience is a plus but not required

• Experience with medical terminology is a plus

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills

• Exceptional problem-solving skills

• Professional verbal and written communication skills

• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high-level of quality and accuracy, while meeting productivity targets in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to thrive in a structured team environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously

• Full time remote option available

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees.
