Work Hours: Office hours are between 9AM-6PM, Monday-Friday. Schedule will vary between these hours to meet program needs.
The Haven Project’s Mission is to equip and empower homeless unaccompanied young adults 17-24 with the skills and support they need to be successful. Intensive case management, vocational training and educational interventions are key components of our strategy to address the needs of these high-risk homeless young adults.
Job Summary
The Haven Project is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Housing Director to oversee our innovative youth housing programs: "Catalyst Housing," a 24-unit permanent, supportive housing project, and "The Nest," which includes an 8-unit transitional housing program and a 16-unit rapid rehousing voucher program for youth and young adults. The Housing Director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, program development, and effective management of these critical housing initiatives.
- Program Oversight and Management:
- Lead the overall operations of Catalyst Housing and The Nest, ensuring programs meet the needs of youth residents.
- Develop and implement programming, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety, well-being, and success of residents.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments to enhance service delivery.
- On call duties as assigned.
- Staff Supervision and Development:
- Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff to ensure high-quality service provision.
- Resident Support and Engagement:
- Oversee case management services to ensure residents receive comprehensive support, including mental health, employment, and educational resources.
- Facilitate resident engagement and community-building activities to foster a supportive living environment.
- Collaborate closely with other Haven Project departments to support program needs and youth progress.
- Budget and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and compliance with funding requirements.
- Pursue additional funding opportunities through grants and partnerships to support program growth and innovation.
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funders.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and other forums to advocate for youth housing needs.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure programs comply with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all funding sources and oversee administration of funds for housing programs
- Prepare and submit regular reports on program outcomes, challenges, and successes to senior management and funders.
- Additional work as assigned by Supervisor
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in housing program management, preferably in youth services.
- Proven experience in administration, staff supervision, program development, and budget management.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by homeless and at-risk youth.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills required
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal housing regulations and funding sources.
- Bilingual – Spanish/English speaking preferred
Evaluation:
- This position will report to and be evaluated by the Executive Director
