Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT marketing department is looking to hire a part-time Shopify Developer! This role would be experienced in managing, maintaining, and crafting custom apps on Shopify Plus platform. We are looking for a low ego, coachable, tenacious individual with a good work ethic that’s looking for personal growth. As a Shopify Developer you will be responsible for maintaining current custom/third party apps, developing custom apps, upgrading current website theme to Shopify 2.0 theme, and improving the customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list:
- Help maintain and improve our website (MiamiHEATStore.com)
- Develop on the Shopify Plus platform, themes, liquid programming language and custom apps
- Upgrade the current Shopify theme to a new Shopify 2.0 Theme, which will include transferring the current theme's code over to the new version.
- Build reusable code for future use
- Testing and debugging site code
- Assessing web performance
- Help ensure websites are accessible and ADA compliant.
- Collaborate with other team members and other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3-4 years of Shopify Plus ecosystem experience: Liquid, theme customization, and data model (additional platform experience a plus)
- Experience with update, maintain and debug and understand how to convert a regular Shopify theme to Shopify 2.0 theme
- Experience with Sophisticated product options, Collection Manager, Metafields Guru, Shogun Page Builder and Smart Tags
- Implement and test software products and plugins for Shopify integrations
- Contribute to continual front-end improvements and conversion optimization on the website
- Several years of experience with SQL, React.js, Node.js, Typescript, AJAX, JSON,
- Proficiency in common web development languages, including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript/jQuery frameworks (React, and Node.js).
- Experience using AWS/Azure, Java, PHP preferred
- Knowledge of version control systems (SVN/GitHub etc.)
- Proficient understanding of adaptable web development and frameworks, such as Bootstrap
- Work around cross-browser compatibility issues
- Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator or Figma to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on a design
- Website accessibility and ADA compliance.
- SEO principles
