The Helix School serves autistic children between the ages of 5 and 22 living throughout the Bay Area. Our Transition Program specifically supports students ages 17-22 in their pursuit of independence and living their best life.
The school’s model and mission are based on providing an education that both nurtures and develops students’ capabilities through an evidence-based, integrated curriculum tailored to support a child’s developmental level, sensory processing differences, and emotional regulatory needs. Responsibilities:
- Positive individual and group coaching both in school and in the community
- Direct assistance in the teaching and learning of functional life skills
- Positive behavioral support when needed
- A desire to open up the world for our special humans
Qualifications:
- Experience working with young adults with special needs
- Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team both in a school setting and internship sites
Benefits: School holidays including two weeks at Christmas, a week of winter and spring break, national holidays observed; Daily schedule is 8:00am to 4:00pm; medical & dental benefits available to school employees. Hourly pay commensurate with experience
