JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for managing technical aspects of software development flow in a specific context for the TNC team (RideShare Tech). It's crucial to lead and ensure the success of delivered solutions and help strategize on prioritize and technical challenges and limitations.
It's part of the job to plan, design, lead, and execute technical solutions and improvements. Tech Product Manager are very technical and thought-leaders among their peers. Otherwise, they won't be able to promote collaboration or precise solutions.
BUSINESS IMPACT:
This role has an impact on how our TNC system is designed and functions, which directly impact revenue for Hertz and is a major focal point for Hertz's overall strategy and goals
Job Contributions- what will you do
- Lead and Develop reference architecture, standards, and models for the architectural domain: business, information, technical, and system architectures across all Hertz brands (Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty)
- Design, develop and maintain complex enterprise services written using .Net, Java, and JavaScript technologies. This includes design around security, logging, and common APIs.
- Serve as expert level advisor to IT management on Rating Eco System architectural and technology topics, best practices, risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with architecture to create efficient designs and strategies for TNC
- Provide clear direction, coaching and support to business and technical staff on day to day priorities
- Conduct research in emerging technologies and continuously identify technologies with high-potential business value and specify their appropriate usage in developing business solutions
- Documents design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Verifies stability, inter-operability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. Communicates with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements.
- Perform design reviews of solutions to ensure the design aligns and supports the specified architecture.
- Consult with application or infrastructure development projects to harmonize systems or infrastructure with the enterprise solution architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate project needs.
- Work with infrastructure to design and plan for deployment of RDMS DBs, No-Sql DBs, Linux servers, windows servers, and containers
- Lead deployment of Rating components to AWS Cloud environments.
Experience and Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technical, or Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 5 years Java development experience
- 2 years of working in an Agile environment
- Strong experience in development of front end and back end applications using .NET, Java, and Javascript.
- Experience in modern development practices in digital/mobile software development including web services, a strong understanding of Microservices, AWS, Containerization techniques such as DEE and Kubernetes NoSQL, RESTful APIs, modern build systems such as Maven, Gradle and version control (Git). Experience in designing and implementing architectures using cloud native technologies.
- Working knowledge of application design and implementation for containers / cloud-native environment using Kubernetes
- Knowledge of how to implement CI/CD frameworks
- Log Management with Splunk or CloudWatch
- Multi-threaded Programming and Transaction Handling (JMS, Database)
- Experience working with a Distributed Cache (Redis)
- Knowledge of pro-active monitoring frameworks and tools
- Experience working on high throughput mission critical high-performance platforms which have low error rates
- Proficient in modern architecture stacks, SOA, relational DBs, stateless APIs, etc.
- Working skills with and IDE platform such as Eclipse, STS, Visual Studio
- Expert in leading large global data migrations and integration efforts.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, OOP & SOA principles, design patterns, industry best practices
