What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cultivation Associate position at The High Way?
The High Way is looking for a full-time Cultivation Associate to join our team in Sacramento, CA.
Must work well within a team and be able to demonstrate this with work history. No work history where you worked alone will be considered valid or applicable.
Production of Cannabis is an extremely involved process and Cultivation Associates will be expected to perform with integrity and respect for cleanliness of the facility and quality of its products.
Must be willing to perform fast-paced laborious tasks in a warm, humid, loud, and high light environment for long periods of time. Working and walking on elevated platforms required. Many tasks require crouching, leaning or bending down for long periods with limited breaks.
Cleanliness is expected at all times including proper utilization of provided sanitation apparel.
General tasks may include but are not limited to caring for clones, transplanting, pruning, trellising, setup and take down of each growth cycle, hanging and bucking branches to dry, sterilization of tools, nutrient mixing. Scouting for plant health and production issues is expected at all times. Must always maintain a tidy work environment, putting away tools and cleaning up waste generated.
Cultivation associates are directed by the Cultivation Supervisor, Propagation Supervisor, Facilities Manager, or Post-harvest Supervisor to carry out the cultivation plan. All Associates will be expected to be flexible in performing tasks in all divisions of production.
Must be 21 years of age or older and have reliable transportation. Must live within 45 minutes of facility located in Sacramento, CA. Transportation to and from facility will never be considered excusable for absence or tardiness.
No option for higher than $18/hr starting wage without horticultural or facilities maintenance experience. Position is full-time. Hours are typically 7AM-3:30PM M-F, but you will be expected to adapt to any changes required for optimal production. Multiple paid holidays including, New Year’s Day, MLK, Memorial, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
Ideal candidates have experience in performing repetitive tasks with precision and attention to quality. Natural empathy toward plants and clean habits highly valuable. Direct cultivation experience preferred and prioritized.
Candidates must exhibit passion and knowledge toward cannabis and cannabis products. You must understand what we are producing.
Positions beginning immediately. Seeking several ambitious candidates interested in scientifically grounded production of Cannabis in a brand-new state of the art facility.
Knowledge of drip irrigation systems, multi-level, mobile racking systems, LED lighting, salt fertilizer chemistry, and low-stress training/bending & trellising will merit higher pay. Hand watering knowledge not at all useful here.
