Higher Taste is a local, family-owned food manufacturer specializing in Vegan and Vegetarian foods. We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Production Manager! The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily and weekly food production by providing direction and management to the production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in staff supervision and food production. Be creative in meeting production goals with the ability to multitask and delegate efficiently in both English and Spanish. A “go-getter” who enjoys working hard and has the skills to think critically about the whole scope of the production process while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Schedule:
Shift is Monday through Thursday with alternating Friday, 5:00 am - 3:00 pm or until daily production is complete.
Job Responsibilities included, but not limited to:
Responsible for making daily production decisions and managing production schedule
Streamline processes to improve operations and efficiencies
Increase profitability and lower expenses
Schedule staff based on production needs
Supervise daily tasks of production staff, including training and giving feedback
Conduct disciplinary action as needed
Ensure that all equipment is safe for operation
Maintain open communication with Operations Manager and production staff throughout the day
Knowledge of food safety and quality control processes; assist PCQI and Operations Manager with food safety audit compliance
Ability to step into production roles when needed - willing to learn and execute all roles of production
Understand and implement all aspects of production, from cooking to final packaging and preparation for delivery
Tracking production logs (temperature, hand-washing, sanitizing, cleaning, etc)
Basic Qualifications:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
2 years in food production or food service
2 years in management
Experience cooking large batch recipes with knowledge of machine equipment used
Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication & division
Ability to be flexible in tasks, learn quickly and apply knowledge in a fast-paced environment
Experience overseeing Food Safety/HACCP Plans
Knowledge of OSHA Safety policies
Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish (Bilingual Required)
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to talk and hear
Frequently required to stand and to reach with hands and arms
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
Ability to spend work day standing, bending, & walking
Must wear personal protective equipment (hairnet, smock, non-slip water resistant footwear and gloves)
Work in cold working environment
Pay and Benefits:
Pay range is $25-30 per hour, DOE. Overtime pays time and a half
