Job Summary: Fire Sprinkler Estimator position is responsible for estimating costs for both labor and materials for new construction, tenant improvement, and retrofit of fire sprinklers into commercial buildings. They are responsible for promoting and selling the fire sprinkler system for each application, while providing excellent customer service and completing turnovers in a timely manner. This position is accountable for achieving sales goals and desired revenues by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities:

• Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project at hand.
• Select metrics to produce valid estimates.
• Visit project locations to gather essential information.
• Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data.
• Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
• Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors and/or vendors.
• Create and submit bids or proposals to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, competitors, etc.).
• Foster relationships with key general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
• Provide consultation on planning – Schedules, manpower needs, etc.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate competitive pricing while adhering to applicable codes and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensure & Certifications:

• GED/High School Diploma
• Bachelor's degree, preferred but not required.
• NICET Certification a plus!

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 Years of estimating and/or designing.

Knowledge, Skills, Capabilities:

• Good working knowledge of estimating sprinkler systems.
• A sound and practical understanding of manufacturing methods of the fire protection
• A good working knowledge of the fire protection industry or related industry,
• Previous field experience in the fire sprinkler industry.
• The ability to schedule and monitor tasks.
• Good writing skills required
• Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excel and Word skills required to be medium to high level user.
• Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proven communication and team working skills

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the ability to sit for periods of time.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.
