Senior Category Manager
Summary:
The Senior Category Manager is responsible for owning key customer supply chain, replenishment, and demand planning responsibilities that position the company to deliver best in class KPI metrics. In addition, this individual will support key operational strategies to align with the customer inventory expectations and optimal replenishment settings that achieve high forecast accuracies, high in-stock metrics, and best-in-class OTIF's. Individual must be able to perform at a high level, have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and work both independently and within a team.
Responsibilities:
Performing business or inventory analysis to understand drivers of performance, predict outcomes, generate insights. Monitor and report critical metrics (in stock/out of stock, fill rate, and on-time delivery), and research root cause with supply chain partners and provide back in stock date and action plans to correct and prevent in the future.
Providing data-driven insights to influence the deployment of inventory, business strategies, and impact business decisions. Monitor ordering patterns to ensure alignment with anticipated POS and analyze orders and address opportunities related to lead times, minimum order quantities, returns, problem freight, etc.
Becoming an invaluable strategic partner by working across various internal teams, discuss business performance, identify opportunities improvement, and collaborate on solutions
Successfully navigating in ambiguous environments, with multiple cross-functional stakeholders and competing KPIs in pursuit of improved business outcomes
Partnering with supply chain teams on future development of new tools and processes to further enhance operational efficiencies and deliver on time and in full for the customer. Provide detail by SKU recommendations to Walmart and Sam’s Club to drive higher inventory during periods experiencing lift (promotional, seasonal, etc.).
Partner with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with other internal departments to improve mutual understanding and collaboration. Support Sales/Demand Planning by providing item level POS and Supply Plan data and feature/ad/promo or reset ship dates.
Communicating effectively to achieve leadership support and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree or higher is required or advanced knowledge of Replenishment, Walmart process/ tools (QMS, Retail Link, NOVA, etc.)
Minimum four (2) years of relevant work experience required
Requires proficiency with MS Office, including advanced Excel
Requires experience working on cross-functional teams
Fast paced Consumer Goods Supply Chain or Forecasting experience preferred
Experience within a customer-facing role preferred
Experience working with direct sales teams, both traditional sales and account teams
Advanced understanding of how analytical tools (e.g. Power BI)
Ability to work with complex data sets and train teams on how to leverage big data
Able to quickly develop and build relationships internally and externally.
Able to perform multi-tasks in an environment that can/will involve stress and pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills as a relationship builder (internal and external)
