About the job
We are looking for a Director of Accounting who can bring the perfect mix of technical background as well as superb people management skills and experience. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role supports accounting operations and financial control to ensure timely and accurate reporting and processing of transactions, helps formulate internal controls and accounting structures, manages external audits, as well as sales tax audits, and oversees and mentors the GL staff. An ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting and management principles, experience, and ability to develop high-performing accounting teams, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and lead a month-end close process to meet scheduled timelines and hold all team members accountable for their responsibilities / timeline
- Lead team in the preparation and review of financial statements, investor reports, and fund performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other accounting standards.
- Review journal entries for accuracy and in a timely manner during close.
- Review account reconciliations for accuracy and quality.
- Prepare quarterly deliverables related to balance sheet and P&L analysis.
- Work closely with private equity firm to adhere to deliverables deadlines and integration.
- Provide management timely review of financials.
- Partner with the business in continuous improvement efforts, projects, system implementations, and other initiatives.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the department and manage the team through the change.
- Advance dashboards and data visualization reporting and analysis.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from a top tier University.
- CPA
- 10 Years’ experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Prior M&A experience with integration is a HUGE plus.
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles and practices and the fundamentals of financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience with NetSuite is highly desired.
- Excellent business acumen and experience in business strategy development and execution.
- Passion for building organizational talent and improving overall financial acumen across the organization.
Compensation up to $180,000 Bonus.
