Manager, Digital Process Optimization (Remote) - Now Hiring

Position Purpose:

The Manager, Digital Process Optimization will lead the Online Operations Digital Process Optimization (DPO) team in the identification, design, development, and overall product lifecycle of automation-focused python / data science solutions.  These technical solutions create scale within the online organization and enable customer-facing experiences on HomeDepot.com.  The manager will lead a team of Developers, Data Scientists and Product professionals as they deliver strategic solutions which release labor capacity, increase gross demand, and uncover data-driven insights.   The manager is responsible for gaining a deep understanding of internal processes/operations and transforming this knowledge into automated solutions.  Additionally, the manager will be responsible for infrastructure planning and enablement for the team.  The DPO team operates in an agile and entrepreneurial environment; a natural curiosity / drive to solve complex business challenges is a must, as is an entrepreneurial mindset. 

Role will be responsible for:

• Manages the identification, design, development, and overall product lifecycle of automation-focused python / data science solutions
• Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team
• Collaborates and leads complex cross-functional initiatives
• Translates customer needs into scalable technical and operational solutions

• Troubleshoot and problem solve for ongoing operational needs as they arise
• Measure and evangelize the team's work to internal partners / leadership
• Quantify the impact of the team
• Responsible for external resource management. Manages outside vendors to ensure execution of programs and tactics on time and within budget. Manages projects and the allotment of money to meet budgetary and segment goals

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
20% - Responsible for presenting analysis and test results and resulting
recommendations to peers and senior management. Leverage data to assist in defining site enhancement requirements and be able to present a compelling business case for securing those investments.


10% - Communicate opportunities to drive financial goals cross-functionally by
making suggestions that support site-wide objectives.


20% - Lead conversion planning and forecasting on a weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual level. Lead ongoing ad hoc analysis of critical business issues that impact site performance; translate analysis into executable recommendations.


10% - Draw reasonable and actionable conclusions from analytic summaries and recommend changes to existing policies and processes based on analytic conclusions and understanding of business requirements and drivers. Support recommendations with clear business case that demonstrates bottom-line value.


10% - Prioritize and manage execution of requests for report enhancements and
analysis from business partners. Establish and evangelize improved data-driven views of site performance.


10% - Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, methodologies and reports. Share best practices and develop systems knowledge to deliver new reports and enhance existing reports to meet needs.


10% - Manage web analytic project prioritization based on business needs. Maintain and prioritize a list of enhancements requested for all measurement technology in place at Home Depot online.


10% - Share leadership for the teams responsible for web analytics (reporting and
analysis) and, over-time, structured site (A/B, MVT) testing.

This position typically reports to Sr. Manager or Director, Homedepot.com

1. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

• Proficient in a modern scripting language (preferably Python)
• Knowledge of how to utilize Python 3.x to solve complex problems
• Knowledge of Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, including manipulating their associated objects (DataFrame, Series, Arrays, etc.)
• Knowledge of Machine Learning concepts and best practices
• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent in a field of study related to the job.
• Experience in Big Query, SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience in query optimization and troubleshooting
• Experience in effective data modeling
• Understanding of REST and effective web service design
• Knowledge of Marcov modeling and its application in ML frameworks
