What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Director of Payroll - Travel Taskforce position at The Hotel Task Force?
Pay is $90,000 annualized. Must know Workday. Travels to and works in a Michigan Resort for 4 months paid by our company. We also pay for all travel.
The Director of Payroll is responsible for leadership of the time, attendance and payroll processes for our locations. Successful management of the payroll manager and collaboration with the corporate payroll team is essential. Be proficient in payroll regulations and provide guidance to location management. Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy of payment. Ensure files are maintained to support payments. Assist payroll manager with troubleshooting payroll discrepancies to get to resolution. Ensure audit standards and reporting are meeting internal audit standards at all times. Communicate updates regarding time and attendance system or payroll changes to team members and management team as required. Ensure timely and accurate entering of hours for payroll purposes per the corporate standard operating procedures. Suggest and support new processes to support our location’s unique payroll needs as appropriate.

Will have 1 Manager working under Director.
Duties Include
- Runs payroll for J1 students, H2B Visa and US Based Employees
- Constantly. Maintain work areas neat and organized.
- Constantly. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Frequently. Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Frequently. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Frequently. Make daily hours corrections.
- Frequently. Process daily work (i.e., new hires, terms, etc.) to ensure correct data is input.
- Frequently. Run and distribute daily time logs.
- Occasionally. Attend all mandatory meetings.
- Occasionally. Distribute paychecks.
- Occasionally. Key and transmit payroll via PC.
- Occasionally. Maintain all payroll account reconciliations.
- Occasionally. Monitor and pay group insurance.
- Occasionally. Monitor and process company 401(k).
- Occasionally. Prepare all required checks for payroll tax deposits, as well as tax reports.
- Occasionally. Process and maintain records for all interim prepays, employee advances, and garnishments.
- Occasionally. Run various payroll reports for distribution to department managers.
- Must live in a Michigan Resort for 4 months. Paid by our company.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources or related discipline
- Prior payroll management experience in a complex environment
- Experience with HR and payroll processing systems and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and employees.
