Clinician (Master's or Post-Doc Level)

PORTIA BELL HUME BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND TRAINING CENTER (aka The Hume Center) has a rewarding opportunity for a qualified Clinician (Masters level or Post-Doctoral Fellow) under the leadership of The Hume Center’s Clinical Program Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to help our organization to grow by continuing to develop this department.

We believe in serving our community through strengthening existing and developing new resources; providing the highest caliber of culturally sensitive behavioral health services, professional training, and clinical research; and focusing on consistent improvement through outcomes, data-based quality assurance, and program evaluation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology

B. Registered OR eligible to be registered as a Psychological Assistant, Registered Psychologist with the Board of Psychology, or Registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

C. One-year clinical experience preferred providing psychological services
D. Comprehensive knowledge of community resources strongly preferred.

E. Experience providing psychotherapy with culturally, socio economically and ethnically diverse populations.

F. Training in Mental Health Consultation (Preferred).

G. Must be willing to work full-time, minimum 40 hours/week, five days a week, and be present at the Hume Center.

H. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, GSuite, and Electronic Health Records

I. Possess a valid California Driver’s license. Must be willing to use own vehicle and valid car insurance for work related travel.

J. Be willing to use own cell phone to be accessible and willing to be available to receive calls for crisis and/or emergency situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Actively participate in didactic and supervision forums to ensure licensure requirements are met
2. Independently responsible for Board documentation and submitting it on time
3. Provide comprehensive clinical services in service program(s), included, but not limited to, intake, assessment, therapy, case management, crisis intervention, consultation.

4. Complete initial screening, gather information for assessment and triage clients by coordinating services with therapists.

3. Develop treatment plans for each client clearly identifying goals, objectives, service needs and methods of intervention.

4. Schedule and attend regular appointments with clients in Hume Center offices, homes, and community settings to assist client’s progress in successfully accomplishing goals.

5. Make contact with, and include as appropriate, parent, family, caseworkers and other collateral contracts.

6. Collaborate and/or consult with 3rd parties in client cases.
7. Maintain on-going contact with client and service providers in order to monitor service delivery, client progress, and assess additional needs.
8. Collaborate closely with service providers in coordinating service delivery.
9. Facilitate support/therapy groups.
10. Provide mental health consultation.

11. Identify community resources and establish effective collaborative relationships with liaisons in the community.

12. Assist client in how to effectively navigate and link to community systems.
13. Attend weekly staff meetings, trainings, group and individual supervision.

14. Maintain client case records, and document activities as required by agency, funding source, and contract requirements.

15. Complete case records, including intakes, clinical progress notes, discharge/transfer summaries, treatment plans and other documentation in a timely manner.
16. Meet minimum billable hours as set by the Hume Center.
17. Participate in Trainee Recruitment, as needed.
18. Present and/or Facilitate Program Orientation, Didactic and Training meetings.
