The Hun School of Princeton seeks a dynamic and creative Associate Director of Human Resources. This full-time, twelve-month position requires hands-on administration and support for various human resources functions including recruitment, background checks, employee lifecycle processes, benefits, training, and communication. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Responsibilities and Essential functions:

  • Coordination and management of end-to-end recruitment, and background, and reference check processes;
  • Administration of employment offer letters and employment agreements;
  • Re-development, implementation, and maintenance of employee training programs;
  • Conceptualization, planning, and administration of employee recognition programs and events;
  • Assist with the facilitation and administration of:
    • All aspects of employee on-boarding and orientation;
    • Job descriptions;
    • Annual performance evaluations;
    • Employee benefits program; education, open enrollment, and correspondence;
    • Employee leave and return to work procedures;
    • Preparation and distribution of HR/benefits legal notices and documents;
    • Tracking of human resources documents for compliance;
    • Auditing and maintenance of various data systems and files;
    • Employee compensation analysis;
    • Off-boarding procedures.
  • Serve as a point of contact for general human resources and benefits inquiries from employees;
  • Liaise with payroll and benefits coordinator, and business office as needed;
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered or redesigned as necessary.

The ideal candidate will possesses the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field;
  • 3-5 years human resources generalist experience;
  • Strong knowledge of human resources concepts and practices;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Outstanding technical skills, and an aptitude and willingness for learning new software and systems;
  • Detail oriented as well as thorough and accurate;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects and adhere to deadlines;
  • Extraordinary work ethic coupled with absolute discretion, confidentiality, and integrity;
  • High degree of flexibility, agility and adaptability to changes, and unafraid of challenges;
  • Comfort working in a fast paced and dynamic school atmosphere;
  • Personal qualities including resilience, approachability, and kindness;
  • A commitment to a diverse and inclusive community;
  • Capacity to periodically work beyond and outside the typical workday, which may include evenings and weekends.

The Hun School of Princeton is an all-gendered, private day and boarding school in Princeton, New Jersey. Individual attention and strong student-faculty relationships are the hallmarks of the School. On the 50-acre campus between Philadelphia and New York City, student-centered, hands-on learning prepares students for the global community in which they will live and work. Our environment:

The working environment is an office and school environment on a hilly 50-acre campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The abilities to occasionally lift files and storage boxes, walk up and down stairs, attend meetings in varying locations throughout campus, and continually use computers and related office equipment are required. Not all buildings on campus have elevators.
