Work-Life Balance

A pod leader’s work-life balance is involves adjusting time and mental capacity used on work and life outside of work. Ideally this important approach should allow employees to both complete all tasks and assignments required at work effectively while also having the energy to spend on personal interests, hobbies, family, and friends or simply relaxing.

A typical pod leader schedule is Monday-Friday 9:00 to 5:00. Because the mission of The Inclusion Way centers on providing community integration opportunities for its pod members, there are occasional activities scheduled on weeknights and Saturdays for pod participation. In these instances, the pod leader’s schedule will be adjusted accordingly or be given the opportunity to earn overtime pay.

Location & Commute

Most pod members are provided transportation services through the state to and from a specific program location set by The Inclusion Way. Pod leaders arrive ahead of pod members and stay until they are picked up at the end of daily programming. There are instances when pod leaders participate in picking up and returning pod members home.

Company Culture

The culture at The Inclusion Way is centered on open communication (transparency), mutual respect, shared goals, and a commitment to employee growth and development.

  • Peas in a Pod - The Inclusion Way program is established on a small group concept of pods. This use of the word pod means a small group consisting of 3-7 people who have similar interests, dispositions, or needs. In this case, The Inclusion Way pods are fashioned around adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities having similar needs and desires to access their communities in the same way people without specials do.

Activities and services are defined by the member and his or her Person-Centered Plan.

  • Pod Leaders are responsible for the safety and active involvement of pod members; prepare weekly pod activities, transport pod members to locations throughout the community and assist, encourage, and coach pod members to actively participate in activities.

  • Pod Leaders are: Humble, Enthusiastic, Adaptable, Resilient and Trustworthy.

Company Core Values

  1. Humility is the absence of pride and the ability to be down-to-earth and modest under all circumstances. Humility is exhibited by respectful behavior towards others. A humble person doesn’t think they are superior to others and is devoid of arrogance and self-praise.

  1. Enthusiasm is a positive attitude that is a critical component of workplace success. Choosing to be enthusiastic is your armor, and it helps you remain immune to the setbacks you face on a given day. -- Winston Churchill said, “Success is going from failure to failure, without loss of enthusiasm.” When things go wrong — as they will — your enthusiasm can help you power through them without feeling the sting of defeat.

  1. Adaptable people are emotionally intelligent. They have more of a capacity to care, and a tenacity for tolerance, encouraging empathy and respect for others, even those who may have different views from their own. Adaptable people make a habit of engaging in positive self-talk to get through challenging tasks.

  1. Resilience is the ability to move through and grow from difficult experiences. It's a skill people can develop over time from the lessons and experiences you absorb as you grow up and face challenges.

  1. Trustworthy expresses our desire to employ people who possess the character quality of being deserving of trust or confidence from others.

We are actively looking for individuals who embrace and reflect our Core Values.
