The Carpenter/Furniture Finisher provides outstanding service by maintaining furniture and other elements of carpentry repair works in guest room, meeting rooms, and all public areas, including back of the house; needs to have knowledge in standard practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety related to carpentry.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Repair, maintain, dismantle structures, furniture, woodwork, doors, folding walls, ceilings, tile, sheetrock and hardware throughout the resort.
- Visually inspects, diagnoses problems, takes measurements and makes necessary adjustments to items such as door hardware to ensure safe smooth operation of guestrooms, public space, and back of the house facilities.
- Performs shop work to repair or build furniture and small structures.
- Able to work closely with vendors and team members to ensure proper quantities of building supplies are always on hand without exceeding the monthly budget.
- Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests, colleagues, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, refurbishment, renovation, remodeling and general upkeep in order to keep the facility functional and attractive to prospective customers.
- Complete assigned work orders for general repair within assigned timeframe in order to achieve the utmost operational efficiency of the Hotel, its safety, and its equipment.

Preferred qualifications:
- High school diploma preferred or GED equivalent
- Prior carpentry and furniture finishing experience required, hotel experience preferred.
- Possesses valid Maryland Driver’s License and minimum of 18 years age required.
- Possesses customer service skills.
- Possesses knowledge about the hotel and the services offered.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, overnight shifts, weekends and holidays
