Job Summary – Recruitment Officer (Full-time or Part-Time)
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Graduate Recruitment, the Recruitment Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of prospective students through the full recruitment life cycle and serves as a gateway in connecting students to further resources at IWP.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Recruitment Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and manage an assigned portfolio of prospective students. Develop a strong relationship with each candidate to understand their professional goals and their personal and professional backgrounds.
- Regular communication is expected via email, texts, and phone calls.
- Attend all assigned recruitment related activities, not limited to Student Orientation, Open Houses and Graduate Fairs.
- Regularly interface with all IWP departments as needed to trouble shoot application issues, set up class visits and related appointments as part of the cultivation cycle.
- Establish relationships with POC’s at IWP professional and academic partner programs.
- May be called upon to assist Senior Vice President of Professional Affiliations in outreach to US government agencies and affiliated NGOs.
- Travel to graduate and professional fairs and recruitment related events around the US.
- Become proficient in data acquisition for Empower and SalesForce/Pardot CRM
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of professional experience with program coordination, event management, sales and customer relations, or prospect recruitment.
- Firm background in national security industry best practices and culture
- Knowledge of US government hiring protocols and partnership development pathways
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be a highly motivated, well-organized, team building self-starter.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and positive and persevering attitude.
- Understanding of and deep commitment to the IWP mission, and the ability to be articulate and inspiring in explaining it.
- Customer service affinity and skills alongside a strong desire to help students and resolve questions and issues.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient computer skills including Windows-based applications.
Work Environment:
- General office environment with daily on-site work required.
- After hours and event settings.
- Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This role requires work schedule flexibility based on the Institute’s events and student needs.
- Travel: This position is required to travel up to 10% of working time.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- The incumbent occasionally needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with Staff and Donors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
