InterMed sells and services medical equipment for our customers across the country and we are growing!  This rapid growth has us searching for a Director of Business Development.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the management of the full sales cycle of InterMed’ s products and services. The Director of Business Development should have relevant experience in the medical service field and a strong understanding of the industry. Have the ability to sell products and complex services within the healthcare industry to senior-level executives and key department heads. The position also requires a demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends and how they would apply to real-world projects. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, territory planning, and development of products and services to meet market demand.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to achieve territory and corporate objectives for all products and service categories.
  • Meets with key clients to build and maintain relationships, negotiate, and close deals within the structure of a corporate sales department.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and negotiation with special emphasis on closing deals.
  • Research customer needs to develop products and services proposals. 
  • Maintain and increase revenues and market share within assigned territory by developing an effective business plan to penetrate competitive accounts and drive growth within existing accounts.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Previous sales experience in the healthcare industry a must
  • Comfortable knowledge of healthcare workflow and healthcare budgeting preferred.
  • Highly self-motivated, with a strong independent work ethic and customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a commission-oriented environment with a hunter/farmer mentality.
  • Must have valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be willing to travel 50% of the time.
  • Prior knowledge of accounts in and around defined territory preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills with proven ability to interact with people at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in direct business to business outside sales managing large territories.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
