What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Manager position at The Iron Horse Hotel?
Job Requirements:
· Drive Market Share and Revenue Performance through proper pricing, segmentation mix and distribution management.
· Elevate market share rank within the competitive set.
· Lower distribution costs across all channels (CRO, GDS, Brand.com, Third Party) and drive direct bookings.
· Provide guidance on corporate transient negotiated and group pricing. Deploy on-going Group Sell Guidelines.
· Clearly communicate to hotel team strategic vision and objectives on how to drive revenues and improve performance.
· Lead the property weekly Revenue Strategy Management meeting.
· Responsible for the performance and configuration of key systems: revenue management system, central reservation system and distribution platforms.
· Produce daily, weekly & monthly performance reports along with monthly forecasts.
· Monitor, control and communication inventory levels and room rates restriction.
· Develops the budget with the General Manager and Controller.
· Reviews STR and market analysis to ensure hotel is maximizing all opportunities with strategies in place to improve areas of opportunity.
· Enhances the hotel’s community image and stays abreast of the competition, new developments and sales methods and techniques in the hotel industry to maximize sales volume and profitability.
· Conducts and/or attends meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among associates and to promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
· Performs all accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner, following established policy and projecting a favorable image of the hotel to achieve objectives, public recognition, and acceptance.
Additional Requirements:
· Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
· Work with integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
· Guide and monitor business ethics and good business practice .
· Conduct self in a most professional manner at all times to reflect the hotel standards.
· Highly organized and has the ability to plan multiple activities and meet deadlines with the ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
· Knowledge of Sales, Reservation and Room’s distribution functions.
· Attend all required meetings.
· Able to work alone without direct supervision.
· Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
· All other responsibilities assigned by General Manager.
Educational Requirements:
· A 4-year college degree or 6 years of relevant experience.
· A minimum of 4 years of revenue management experience.
·Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
· Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and other applicable computer systems.
