What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Sales position at The Jahnda Group?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, build, nurture and manage relationships with existing government clients, vendors and procurement agency decision-makers to effectively identify, pursue and close new business across our three product catalogs: Hardware & MRO, Medical & Laboratory and Aerospace & Defense.
Develop new client relationships and manage those effectively, originating new sales opportunities, then validating, qualifying, and closing those sales opportunities
Determine needs of our customers using publicly-available and proprietary forecasting platforms
Use and promote existing sales channels
Secure and attend meetings with prospective customers, including at relevant industry conferences, to gain information about their business needs and current environment
Qualify opportunities, establish effective sales solutions, and win business
Assist the CEO in pipeline management and forecasting
Have a high-level understanding of procurement activities and recent procurement histories at all agencies served
Maintain broad market and competitor knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS:
Well-qualified candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years of recent government contracting and/or government sales experience selling offerings into federal government agencies such as the Defense Logistics Agency, Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
Minimum of 1 year government sales experience (direct or indirect) a minimum quota of $1M
COMPENSATION:
$50k salary plus commission structure of 25% of gross profit on annual attributed sales up to $2.5m, increasing to 40% of gross profit for annual attributed sales above $2.5m. For illustrative example, over a 12-month period, if attributed sales = $5m and gross profit = $500k, then total compensation is $212.5k ($50k salary $62.5k for sales up to $2.5m $100k for sales between $2.5m and $5m). Total compensation is not capped. Stated salary range of $50k - $412.5k is applicable to $0 in annual attributed sales to $10m in annual attributed sales.
