Music Instructor Needed - Essex County, NJ

MUST LIVE IN MORRIS, ESSEX, UNION OR SOMERSET COUNTIES.

The Jam Cats Music is a fun and energetic music program for preschool age children. Our programs are taught at area preschools located around New Jersey. We are looking for an instructor for our mobile music and movement program. This is part time work that could lead to full time for the right person. Our curriculum is young and fresh with a primary focus on having fun while playing and learning about music. We are looking for someone that exudes a love for children and music and is interested in becoming a member of an amazing program. Great pay and a lot of fun! Must live in Morris or Essex County area, NJ!

Our programs are held on weekdays from the hours of 9:00am-12:00pm and again in the afternoon from 3-5pm. This job opportunity is starting in the upcoming spring season beginning on or around April 8th. We offerr our music program in over 40 different locations throughout NJ! Our current mobile music instructors work anywhere from 2 hours to 40 hours per week. This is a great job opportunity for someone looking for some part time or full time work to schedule around their school hours, or any other part time or full time work that they might have. In the past the following types of people have worked out well for us:

• College students
• Graduate school students
• Teachers looking to make some additional income after school hours (3:00 to 5:00)
• People working multiple part-time positions.
• People who are currently unemployed and conducting a job search for a full-time position.
• Musicians who have shows/gigs scheduled on nights and weekends looking to make additional income.

A potential candidate will have experience playing a musical instrument and will have a tuneful singing voice. Has experience working with children in a group setting (teaching, coaching, camp counseling, has their own kids, etc.). Most importantly, they will have the right personality and demeanor to work with young children. By this, we mean that they are energetic, upbeat, charismatic and the type of person that can captivate a group of 3 to 5-yr. olds for 30 min music programs. If you have a musical background but have not instructed music on a preschool level, don't worry, we will train the right candidate! We offer sit in sessions, where our potential new hires can sit in with one of our seasoned instructors to learn a typical day in The Jam Cats Music Program!

• Experience with music.

Requirements include:

• Tuneful singing voice
• Positive and playful nature
• Group facilitation skills
• Ability to create excitement in young children
• Basic guitar, piano and percussion skills or knowledge
• Experience teaching and/or entertaining children in a group environment
• Experience in some level of music or dance instruction and performance
• Ability to memorize songs and lesson plans
• Enthusiastic and energetic!
