Business Analyst

Description

A Business Analyst position is available at Jay Group’s corporate headquarters. This position develops, interprets company data, and makes recommendations based on insights gained.

Business Analyst Job Responsibilities:

1. Performs data analysis at the departmental, facility, business unit, and client levels. Exhibits proactive leadership in highlighting, addressing, and resolving business issues.
2. Supports the Company in developing, modifying, and education of various cost rates with a focus on small parcel transportation. Assists in development and implementation of the strategic pricing plan.
3. Works with departmental and operations managers to make significant and observable contributions toward improved profitability and provides actionable information. Works across company departments/plants to create positive financial impacts exhibits external (to Finance) focus while maintaining strong relationships with corporate financial processes and personnel.
4. Works closely with Sales in preparation of pricing specifically related to transportation but can expand into other areas.
5. Develops/performs reporting, analysis, and controls related to Client defined reporting requirements, and internal requirements related to billing clients, performance reporting and quoting functions.
6. Performs ad hoc analysis/reporting and project work at the request of VP of Finance and the Finance Manager.
7. Works closely with Finance Management in analyzing and reconciliation of freight costs.
8. Leads the coordination of data gathering to accurately bill our clients.
9. Develops own skill set through continuing professional education and helps create a culture of professional/technical development.
10. Performs other functions as necessary or required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. A minimum of five years of professional business analytics is required.
3. Previous experience with small parcel shipping is preferred.
4. Professional, detail oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
5. Proficient with MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and a BI program, preferably QLIK.
6. Ability to multi-task and thrive on working in a fast-paced environment.
7. Excel in providing great customer service.
