SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for providing consistent excellent service to guests/patrons of the bar/lounge and setting up, maintaining and operating the bar/restaurant in an efficient and profitable manner. The Bartender is required to adhere to the mission and values of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Bartender is focused and responsible for the following:
Primary Duties:
- Assist with assistance in selections of bar products with management for weekly specials.
- Assist with training all bartenders
- Maintain a complete knowledge of all bar menu items and answer questions/make recommendations on menu/alcoholic selections to guests.
- Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes and using specified measurements of alcohol as set by the said recipe.
- Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles.
- Record transactions in POS at time of order.
- Present physical and accurate check to guests and process payments.
- Notify Bar Manager of any liquor/inventory shortages immediately.
- Arrange bottles and glasses to make an attractive display and merchandise drinks.
- Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks accordingly and ensure fruit or other food items are acceptable to safe and sanitary food handling principals.
- Follow state liquor laws and check identification of customers, to ensure that they are of legal drinking age.
- Complete and follow approved alcohol awareness training program at all times to ensure that alcohol is not over served to a guest.
- Set up and maintain cleanliness at all times of bar unit, tables, and other tools.
- Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies. Restock bar with liquor and supplies.
- Employee must follow all liquor control measures including drink portion controls and the bottle requisition policy of the property.
- Wash soiled glassware and remove soiled wares from bar top and tables and place in designated area.
- Complete closing duties as assigned. Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language.
Other Duties:
- Be aware of guests’ needs; assist in providing a pleasant lounge experience.
- Responsible for flow of each evening from Guests, staff and products of Food & Beverages.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
- Follow all cleaning schedules to include daily and weekly responsibilities to ensure cleanliness.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support team to reach
- Maintain personal appearance as clean and professional.
- Must have a positive attitude at all times.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform any assigned task not outlined above that the associate has the ability to perform.
- Support COMPANY PILLARS by following and executing: Revenue Improvement, Cost Management/Profitability, Exceeding Guests Expectations, Associate Engagement, and Outstanding Physical product.

SUPPORTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
This employee is responsible for working in a team environment and assisting and supporting all members of the team to ensure a great dining experience for the guests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment in the Bar.
- Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and familiarity with standard drink recipes.
- Ability to work on POS equipment.
- Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers.
- Must be 21 or older.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Degree or Equivalent. Minimum of 1 year experience as a bartender.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of the hospitality industry and have sound customer service skills.
MATHEMATIC SKILLS
Knowledge of basic math and analytical skills.
REASONING SKILLS
Critical Thinking — using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to supervise situations and accomplish goals on a timely basis.
- Previous experience with Toast POS system preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work indoors.
- Must be able to stand for most of the shift. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular and continuing
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
WORK CONDITIONS
The Bartender will deal with stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, this employee must be able to work varying schedules, including long hours, to reflect the business needs and workload of the restaurant, as well as assigned responsibilities from management.
