Description: We are working with a large food manufacturer seeking a Production Supervisor to join their Horicon, WI area team. Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Oversee and schedule production staff, ensuring a safe, productive, and high-quality work environment.
- Train and develop new team members in food production processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Motivate and coach employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
- Address performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Production Efficiency & Problem-Solving:
- Plan, schedule, and optimize production processes to meet output quotas while minimizing waste.
- Identify and troubleshoot production line issues, implementing solutions to maintain smooth operation.
- Monitor and maintain production equipment, identifying and reporting maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely equipment repairs and minimize downtime.
- Quality & Safety Champion:
- Enforce strict adherence to all food safety and quality control regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure sanitation standards are met.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to maintain the highest standards for our food products.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with all departments (maintenance, sanitation, inventory) to ensure seamless production flow.
- Participate in meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and solutions.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to staff and ensure everyone understands their roles.
- High school diploma; Associate's degree in Food Science or a related field a strong plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in food production, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and record-keeping.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of HACCP principles (or willingness to learn) is a plus.
