Full time, In-Person, Accounting Clerk is needed for an immediate placement. The Accounting clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and clerical duties requiring knowledge of basic accounting. This is an in-office opportunity, in Beaumont, CA.
The Accounting Clerk schedule is as follows:
Monday - Thursday: 8am - 5pm / Friday 8am - 12pm
Accounting Clerk Job Summary:
Accounting Clerk performs general accounting duties such as preparing monthly bank reconciliations, recording revenues, investments, and bad debts, reconciling accounts receivable customer billing, preparing adjusting entries and schedules, and performs other related duties as required. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that finances are accurate and up to date, that staff are paid in a timely and appropriate manner and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits.
Accounting Clerk Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists Finance Director with annual budget preparation and monthly financial reporting;
- Assists with development of the annual Comprehensive Financial Report (CAFR);
- Prepares monthly and year-end General Ledger adjusting journal entries;
- Prepares account reconciliations; Processes the payroll;
- Maintain compliance with local, state and federal payroll reporting requirements;
- Prepares required payroll tax/benefit payments and filings;
- Tracking, collection and recording of revenues; monitoring daily receipts and bank activity;
- Other duties as required.
Accounting Clerk Qualifications and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general accounting practices, principles and procedures C.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal accounting principles and auditing standards
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Skill in the use of computers and various software programs
- Development of financial reports
- Oral and written communication
- Ability to read, interpret and apply established internal rules, procedures and policies
- Ability to track, collect, analyze, and reconcile accounting data.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with the public, employees, agency officials and surrounding departments .
- Ability to use sound judgment within established guidelines
- Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate work activities
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate financial records
