The Facilities Director (FD) plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the physical infrastructure, assets, and maintenance of Lakeside Church. This role is vital in ensuring that facilities are well-maintained, safe, efficient, and aligned with the strategic goals of Lakeside.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance and overall upkeep of Lakeside Church buildings and areas of operation.
- Develop and implement long-term facilities management strategies aligned with the goals and objectives of Lakeside Church.
- Manage the facilities department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
- Maintain an inventory of all physical assets, including building property, equipment, and infrastructure, and ensure their optimal utilization and upkeep.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely repairs to maintain a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for outsourced facility services and maintenance contracts.
- Implement energy-efficient practices and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs.
- Partner with the Safety & Medical Response Team to establish and maintain security protocols, emergency response plans, and safety procedure.
- Build and lead a skilled facilities team.
- Build and lead in-house custodial staff focused on general cleanliness and deep cleaning of Lakeside buildings.
- Maintain clear communication channels with staff, department leaders, and the Division Leader to address their facility needs and concerns.
Experience and Skills Required
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in facilities management.
- Strong understanding of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other facility-related systems.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards applicable to the organization's industry.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Experience in managing construction or renovation projects within budget and on schedule.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex facility-related issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in facility management software, Asana and MS Office Suite.
