What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kaizen Host position at The Larry and Kaizen?
Main Duties
Begin the shift by confirming reservations and reviewing and adjusting the floor chart to maximize efficiency and ensure a smooth service
Answer the phone in a timely and professional manner
Act as an information point of contact for guests, and be able to answer basic questions regarding hours, location, website, Happy hour times, etc.
Greet every guest immediately as they approach the host stand with a warm and inviting attitude
Schedule, adjust, and cancel reservations using our online system, Tock
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date ‘book’ as the shift progresses to ensure cover counts are correct
Anticipate needs for tables and communicate specific set-up adjustments to server assistant for upcoming reservations
Bid every guest farewell as they exit the restaurant
The Kaizen Host sets the stage for the guest experience from the minute they walk through the door. This person would be friendly, team-oriented, and a multi-tasker and be able to maintain a calm demeanor even under pressure. She or he will deliver a genuine smile, anticipate the flow of service throughout the shift and seat guests quickly and efficiently. She or he works well in a fast-paced environment and possesses a dedication to providing excellent service to guests; they are solution-oriented and highly organized.
