Title: On-Site (Field) Service Technician

Location: Bellingham, WA (Ferndale, WA and Anacortes, WA)

Linde is seeking a motivated On-Site Service Technician responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of oxygen and nitrogen producing plants located on customer sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining plant performance goals, including maintenance and repair, process operation, site organization, billing, and record keeping duties. The position requires excellent problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and decision-making abilities. The successful individual must be comfortable working alone for up to 90% of the time but also must maintain clear and frequent communication with management and other team members regarding inspection findings and equipment conditions. • First year base pay starts from ($80,000-$95,000)

• Upon successful completion of the qualification program candidates are eligible for a $4/hr increase

What you will be doing:

• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance activities at each assigned plant location
• Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on a variety of industrial plant equipment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose plant issues
• Manage site operations with minimal supervision to meet product specifications & production efficiency
• Coordinate contractors and resources, both internal and external to Linde, to support plant maintenance and audits
• Review and interpret process & instrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams
• Complete self-guided training assignments & activities to advance comprehension of the position’s responsibilities & successfully complete instructor led trainings
• Manage procurement, purchasing and billing for the plant
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility
• Drive a service truck up to 2 or 3 hours per day and up to 8 hours on occasion
• Occasionally assist or direct the training and development of new employees

What makes you great:

• High school diploma required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience is highly desirable in the following fields:
• Military technical fields: Machinist Mates, Electrician Mates, Gas Turbine Technicians, Boiler Technicians
• Air separation plant technology or similar complex process
• Instrumentation and controls
• Compressors and compressor maintenance
• Industrial mechanical maintenance
• Industrial electrical or electrician
• Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)
• Mechanical &/or electrical troubleshooting aptitude required
• Must be on call during weekdays and weekends when required
• Must occasionally travel for training and operations support activities
• Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds*
• Must be able to safely navigate and climb at high altitudes to perform essential job duties*
• Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions
• Must be able to meet customer access requirements which may include additional random drug screening
• Background in instrumentation, including the ability to measure, control, and analyze variables using specialized mechanical or electronic devices is preferred
