Our client Montana State government agency seeking a MICRS Software Engineer (Oracle Developer) in the Helena, Montana area. This position has a hybrid and/or remote option, but the candidate may be required to come to the office periodically.
Note: The Agency prefer candidates within commuting distance to work location, but not required.
Project Overview
MICRS is a 20-year-old, internally developed application for medical billing at the DPHHS facilities. It holds resident records, including their insurance information and services received at the facility, and produces bills to the appropriate payor. The technology stack includes both database-side batch PL/SQL processes and front-end Oracle Forms and Reports code. The successful candidate will support this project. The is a full-time 2-year contract position with a possibility of an extension. This position is located in Helena, MT.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the operational system with data and programming fixes.
- Enhance the existing medical billing system.
- Document business requirements to assist with ultimate replacement by COTS EHR system.
Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL programming, both in client and database server.
- Knowledge of accounting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical billing preferred.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Solid oral and strong written communication skills
Experience Requirements
3 years minimum Oracle PL/SQL experience.
- 3 years minimum Oracle Forms/Reports (prefer 12c ) experience.
- Experience with git or subversion version control.
- Experience with a modern reporting tool (such as Tableau, PowerBI, Pentaho).
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS, or a combination of education, training and/or certification is a nice to have but not required.
