Event Production Supervisor is a fast-paced and incredibly rewarding opportunity for those who can effectively manage time, people and resources while ensuring a successful event experience. The Production Supervisor has imagination, integrity, charisma and attention to detail. A successful candidate displays an ability to fulfill both the client’s vision and maintain our quality standards. As part of the Production Team, Production Supervisors are responsible for implementing and delivering our designers’ vision to their client; from concept and design; through installation, operation and removal.

Education and Experience
In-depth knowledge of the live event production processes and best practices.

  • 2 years' experience as a Production Supervisor, Technical Director, or similar role in the theatrical arts or event production industry.
  • Experience overseeing and guiding work teams ranging in size from 2 to 10 individuals.
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating communication across multiple event production departments.
  • Familiarity with event safety regulations and protocols.
  • Demonstrate mastery in one or more production departments. (Lighting, Sound, Video, Design and Decor)

Must have hands-on technical experience with some of the following:

  • Technical Direction: managing the load in, rehearsal, show and load out across disciplines.
  • Master Electrician: expert at power distribution and electrical theory. Comfortable with 3 phase power distribution from existing panels as well as portable generators (ie 70kva diesel generators)
  • Generating and interpreting lighting plots.
  • Leading crews to hang, patch, and focus various types of lighting fixtures including current industry technology.
  • Programming conventional, LED and moving lights.
  • Possess an eye for lighting design, color, shape, and movement.
  • Video system integration: ability to lead set up of LED walls and projectors and manage video playback systems.
  • Show calling and Stage Management.

Responsibilities
Production Supervisors are expected to help plan and oversee all technical aspects of an event, from conception to the last detail. Production Supervisors will regularly meet with relevant organizational staff to discuss the needs of a production. Production Supervisors often suggest ideas, themes or other creative possibilities to help an event and improve their department. Adhering to a timeline is required and frequent communication with team members is vital. Production Supervisors should expect local travel within the Bay Area, and be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Duties

  • Meet with event planners, account designers and production management to discuss the implementation and technical direction of the event
  • Build equipment orders, production timelines, and A/V diagrams.
  • Oversee and lead the installation, operation and breakdown of Lighting, Audio and Video Systems in The Greater Bay Area using state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance of equipment in their department, ensuring it is all in working condition.
  • Work within budgets, have effective time management and cultivate a collaborative work environment.
  • Lead the charge, identify knowledge gaps and teach others while improving yourself.

  • CA licensed Driver with a clean driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
