Position Description
The Manager TIS Vendor Management is responsible for all Technology and Information Services vendors across the Enterprise with a focus on leading a team that has the responsibility for building, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with strategic (high-value and high-dependency) vendors and internal partners post-contract execution. This team will be responsible for a combination of strategic vendor contracts, performance, finance, relationship, innovation, and risk management. The role also includes leading a team that partners with Supply Chain on sourcing of services from the global marketplace and collaborating closely with Supply Chain on other technology sourcing and procurement initiatives. The successful candidate must understand contractual, commercial, and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed goods and services.
Position Requirements
Leadership Duties
· Provide leadership and set the strategic direction, mission and vision of the vendor management office (VMO) in alignment with the strategic and operational objectives of the technology organization and the business.
· Develop organizational design and functional roles and responsibilities for technology vendor management.
· Build and maintain training and performance evaluation materials for resources assigned to the VMO.
· Foster a culture of success through performance targets, one on ones, a clear engagement strategy and regular performance reviews, ensuring that you have the right person in the right role based on their skills and competencies.
Operational Duties
· Establish and/or approve internal and external policies, standards and processes for vendor interaction.
· Lead the maintenance/improvement of tools for use in vendor management, including vendor tracking, analytics and performance management tools (scorecards and dashboards).
· Serve as the leadership-level point of contact between the vendor organization and internal customers consuming vendor services and solutions.
· Handle the collection, consolidation and communication of reporting and data on vendor contracts, performance, risk and relationships to key internal partners and vendors.
Contract Management
· Support SCM in the maintenance of agreements with vendors and ensure that they are current/up to date and aligned with relevant laws and regulations.
· Support SCM in handling the creation and maintenance of a repository of vendors in a contract management database or similar solution to track key dates (expirations, renewals) and assess demand.
· Classify and rationalize the vendor portfolio so that focus can be applied to the most strategically important vendor relationships/engagements.
Relationship Management
· Manage vendor relationships as the key point of contact between specified vendors and the business.
· Serve as a point of escalation for vendor issues and disputes and drive those issues to resolution.
Performance Management
· Lead all aspects of the measurement and reporting of sourcing, procurement, and vendor performance, including the development of evaluation tools based on constituent requirements, and the creation of scorecards and dashboards that will accurately present this data.
Who You Are
· Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, computer science or related field is required
· Ten or more years of experience in vendor management or a related field
· Proven experience in successfully leading a team in the management of vendors/third parties, including, but not limited to, policies, performance, vendor risk, relationships, contracts and issue and dispute resolution
· Broad knowledge of the IT industry and the products and services provided by technology vendors
· Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry requirements
· Solid understanding of contract management and negotiation
· Understanding of the entire vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements
· Solid grasp of financial concepts, such as depreciation schedules, dollar costing and total cost of ownership
· Strong ability to lead, train and motivate staff
· Executive presence and comfort interacting with both internal and vendor senior leadership
· Ability to influence without authority and collaborate with internal clients
Physical Requirements:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $170,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
