The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Prince George's Parks and Recreation; Special Programs Division is seeking seasonal/intermittent applicants to fill rental property positions located at our Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center. The Great Room is a rental space that is available for business meetings, weddings, wedding receptions, birthday celebrations, family reunions and other special events.
Work hours are flexible and include evenings and weekends (Saturday evening and Sunday morning). Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Positions are essential to the success of events at the rental facility, and responsibilities must be met in fair and inclement weather. Applicants must display excellent customer service, have reliable transportation, the ability to work a flexible schedule (including nights, weekends, and shifts longer than 8 hours), in addition to possessing the ability to work with a diverse public. Event set up and breakdown of tables and chairs and light and heavy lifting are required in all positions.
The following positions are available:
Event Staff starting at $18.00 per hour
Applicants must work weekend (Saturday day and evening, Sunday morning and weekday evening shifts). Assists event supervisor and assumes delegated responsibilities as assigned, which includes but is not limited to setting up and breaking down tables and chairs, general cleaning to include restrooms, trash disposal and grounds maintenance. Light and heavy lifting will be required.
Maintenance Staff starting at $18.00 per hour
Assists the lead maintenance person and the event supervisor with cleaning and maintaining the property and event set up and break down. Applicant must be available on nights and weekends. Light and heavy lifting will be required.
- Applicants must be 18 years and up.
- Be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
This position does not provide benefits.
