What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-Level Gift Officer position at The Mentoring Alliance?
PROFILE
As with other positions within this ministry, the Mid-Level Gift Officer is known for their strong Christian character. This person sets an example for younger believers and nonbelievers and lives a life that is above reproach. PRIMARY FUNCTION
The primary function of the Mid-Level Gift Officer is to act as an ambassador for the Mentoring Alliance by performing engagement activities within the local community for marketing and development relationship-building. This includes regularly meeting with key stakeholders including but not limited to businesses, churches, and potential investors under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing & Development (VPMD). The Mid-Level Gift Officer is responsible for conducting tours of ministry activities based upon the program in season and capturing inspirational stories of program participants, their families, and staff.
KEY RESULT AREAS
1. Minister of the Gospel: The Mid-Level Gift Officer is first and foremost considered to be a Minister of the Gospel. This position furthers Mentoring Alliance’s religious mission by:
- Following Jesus Christ and setting an example for others through their lifestyle.
- Exhibiting a passion for sharing the gospel with others.
- Being willing and able to explain the message of the gospel to kids and families of Mentoring Alliance.
- Being willing and able to counsel, shepherd, and disciple kids and families of Mentoring Alliance in a manner consistent with the Bible.
- Being willing and able to explain Mentoring Alliance’s beliefs and Statement of Faith in person or over the phone to kids and families of Mentoring Alliance.
- Being ready, willing, and able to lead or contribute to distinctly Christian activities (including, but not limited to, worship or staff chapel).
2. Community Engagement Support for the VP of Marketing & Development:
- Provides high-level, value-added relational support to the Vice President of Marketing & Development through meetings with key stakeholders based on VPMD’s priorities.
- Meets with key church contacts based on the VPMD’s communication plan in order to meet a $150,000 annual support goal from local missions’ budgets.
- Provides church partners with timely, upbeat, and relevant ministry updates regarding Mentoring Alliance’s Kingdom impact.
3. Development Services Special Events, and Marketing Support:
- Shepherds 50-75 key contacts for relationship building and ministry communications regarding their financial investment into Mentoring Alliance — texts, sharing photos, podcasts, and other helpful resources.
- Assists the Marketing & Development team with weekly gift processing, thank-you letters, and thank-you calls with a high degree of accuracy and customer service while communicating the Christ-centered impact of these gifts.
- Processes all daily activities in Salesforce in a timely and effective manner with a high degree of accuracy and a goal of 25 investor activities per week — if it is not in Salesforce, it is not accounted for.
- Performs and documents all input activities for Marketing & Development and manages departmental scorecard.
- Assists Marketing & Development team with people-coordination of special events including vendors, participants, special guests, staff, volunteers, and donors while effectively communicating the impact and gospel-centered message of MA programs.
- Assists the VPMD with social media needs and execution related to Marketing & Development and the MA Brand.
4. Other Duties as Assigned by the Vice President of Marketing & Development and/or President
- Invests 20% of the time on investor relationships and projects as assigned by the VPMD.
- Serves on appropriate committees; attends staff meetings, and other staff functions as assigned.
- Strengthens teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the ministry.
- Fulfills necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned.
- Supports multi-regional initiatives both on-site and from a distance as designated by the VPMD.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree or equivalent work experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Mentoring Alliance program experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required
- Experience in website research preferred
- General clerical/secretarial/administrative experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills required
