A fine dining restaurant in the UWS is hiring a Front of House manager to join our growing team at The Milling Room, an established neighborhood restaurant
The FOH manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing our evening and brunch service. The ideal candidate is experienced in fine dining skills and enjoys interacting with clients, ensuring staff is delivering high-quality service maintaining standards, and finding solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys a bustling environment, is a hands-on team player, and is a leader under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the daily operations while maintaining a consistent management presence during service.
- Assists GM and AGM with in-service training across all FOH teams
- Proactively supervising the door team to ensure smooth cover flow
- Facilitate communications between FOH and BOH team
- Proactive in controlling labor costs based on business flows
- Effective at resolving service issues, handling customer complaints, and problem-solving
- Building relationships with our regular clientele and building new relationships
- Maintain a high level of hospitality and professionalism with each manager, team member, and guest
Qualifications:
- Appetite for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for our guests
- Management experience in a fine dining and/or upscale casual restaurant is a must
- The ability to stay calm and positive under pressure
- Fluent in both written and spoken English with strong communication skills
- Team-oriented with a strong sense of punctuality, reliability, and professionalism
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency, strong work ethic, and ability to mentally prioritize and stay organized in a high-volume atmosphere
- Wine Knowledge and experience with wine service are a plus
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver items up to 30 pounds
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending, and standing)
- We have a high management retention rate and believe in work/life balance. Management schedule is no more than 45-55 hours per week and includes two consecutive days off.
- Salary is based on 5 shifts per week.

Salary : $68,000 - $75,000
