About The Hotel

Mining Exchange Hotel & Spa was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel & Spa offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces and guestrooms are all newly renovated.

Job Role

Respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, and accident-free manner. Ensure a safe, resourceful, and well-maintained hotel environment.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.
• Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.
• Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
• Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain logs to notify the next shift.
• Respond to all emergencies including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters, and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
• Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintain temperatures throughout the building.
• Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.

Experience: Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction, and renovation work. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
