Professional Liability Underwriter
The Professional Liability Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting, producing, and binding business for our Professional Liability division. We write a broad Professional Liability program on behalf of an “A” XV rated carrier partner on a Non-admitted basis in all 50 states.
The Underwriter will assist in the growth of the Professional Liability book and will assist in building a profitable portfolio of business, focusing on Errors & Omissions coverages targeting Architects and Engineers, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Insurance Brokers/Agents, Allied Healthcare, and Contractors Professional Pollution Liability lines of business.
The ideal Underwriter will have a solid Professional Liability background, producing profitable underwriting results, and have strong wholesale producer relationships.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Underwriting, producing, and binding Professional Liability business on a nationwide basis.
- Achieving premium writings while producing a profitable book of Professional Liability business.
- Developing, maintaining, and servicing broker relationships.
- Originating new business with brokers and servicing the renewal book.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment with underwriters, underwriting assistants, support teams, and management.
- Providing high quality service to brokers and carrier partners.
- Maintaining thorough compliance of underwriting & rating guidelines, operational procedures, and local & federal laws.
Principle Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of Professional Liability underwriting experience within Errors & Omissions coverages for Architects and Engineers, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Insurance Brokers/Agents, Allied Healthcare, and Contractors Professional Pollution Liability lines of business.
- Experience of producing a profitable book of business to carrier partners.
- Strong broker relationships.
- Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to broker and carrier partner queries.
- Strong computer skills, especially within various underwriting tools and systems, and Microsoft platforms.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Desire to grow within the Company.
