We are April Six Mobility, a Marketing and Communications agency with 35 years of experience, that specialises in working with the most exciting, forward thinking mobility brands and manufacturers. We’re based in a beautiful converted barn on the rural edge of Bournemouth, but still just a 20-minute drive from some of the best beaches in Dorset. Yes, we’re a little spoilt and we know it!

Role

So, who are we looking for? 

We are looking for a passionate, strategic, highly motivated and driven Creative Director. We see this as pivotal to helping the agency deliver our vision of working with innovative Brands all with a similar goal of driving the future of Mobility. Responsible for the creative output of the Agency, with leadership and management of the creative and studio team we need somebody who genuinely enjoys growing teams and helping individuals flourish. Whilst also defining and managing creative processes; the ideation, presentation and execution of Client brands and marketing communications campaigns; the profitability and creative quality of Client projects, and the operational readiness of a ‘best in class’ creative team, hungry and passionate about delivering their best work. 

 

You should have excellent communication skills, a forensic attention to detail and be able to maintain relationships at all levels. You should have the personal desire for growth and development and a desire to contribute to the strategic direction of the agency. A genuine passion for cars and interest in the future of mobility will be a real advantage. 

 

What are the Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring that our creative product remains leading edge and ahead of our competition 
  • Ensuring that the quality of creative and production is award winning  
  • Directing the creative function so that the environment, culture, team, capabilities, tools, processes, expectations, work style and other elements support the strategic goals and brand of April Six (Mobility) 
  • Encouraging a hunger within the team to go above and beyond and continually deliver the wow in our creative response and delivery  
  • Ensuring that the creative function and studio operates in an efficient, profitable manner 
  • Delivering strategic communication solutions that help our Clients attain their marketing and communications objectives  
  • Listening, asking, hearing, prioritizing and translating Client situation, marketing goals and information into strategic brand concepts, voice, messages and rationales 
  • Writing and presenting cohesive and persuasive rationales for campaign approaches 
  • Work collaboratively with partners, participate in company strategising, and make recommendations for changes to the creative function/processes to meet market changes, competitive threats or to support strategic plans 
  • Understand April Six Mobility’s strategic goals and brand; analyse the creative team and studio, environment, processes, technologies, etc., to determine areas needing improvement; and build and direct a creative and studio function aligned with and supportive of those goals 
  • Make decisions on a daily basis that ensure both profitability and creative quality 
  • Set expectations and standards (build a culture) for creative team attitude, behaviour, teamwork and professional development. Lead accordingly 
  • Work within April Six's values/processes and procedures’, ensuring the creative and studio team knows and follows those standards. 
  • Drive constant improvement in April Six’s creative and studio quality and capabilities. 
  • With the account lead, assure that internal and client presentations are on time, professional, engaging, persuasive and supported by a sound rationale 
  • Contribute to the strategic and creative development of the agency’s marketing and branding efforts for new business development 
  • Managing outside resources, freelancers etc. where necessary. 
  • Managing art direction, design, copywriting and production of projects 
  • Continually learning, evaluating and implementing new marketing communications technologies within the agency and develop partnerships across the wider April Six group and Mission Group as required. 

 

Is there any specific experience, skills or qualifications needed? 

 

  • A genuine love for success with a glass half full attitude always. A can-do approach with a genuinely warm and approachable persona. 
  • A wealth of passion and experience in the Mobility sector in particular. 
  • Leadership and collaboration skills 
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills 
  • Excellence in managing and motivating staff 
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills 
  • Thorough understanding of advertising and marketing principles 
  • Demonstrated talent for high-caliber creative concepting and writing
