A Nonprofit that is focused on promoting healthy eating for children ages birth to 12 is excited to add a Compliance Specialist to their team!
$25 / hr, direct hire
Must have reliable transportation
Working and visiting with students / families in NW Indiana
In this role, the candidate will be responsible for insuring the compliance of family child care homes participating in the USDA funded food program (CACFP) with on-site review visits.
They will also provide program standards and nutrition training as well as technical assistance for compliance.
The Compliance Specialist will work with families and homes spread out over 5 counties in NW Indiana. The primary cities covered include Gary, Michigan City, East Chicago, and Hammond.
There will also be occasional staff meetings in office in Chicago.
The candidate must have reliable transportation.
The schedule for this role is highly flexible and 90% of the work can be done between 9am - 2:30pm, making it a great option for a working mom!
Specific Duties Include:
Consistently adheres to all program regulations, directives, and guidelines during all initial and follow-up monitoring visits.
Monitors each family child care home assigned three times per fiscal year.
Participates in a professional development plan as directed by the CACFP Manager.
Answers telephone calls and responds to emails.
Assists CACFP staff and manager as needed.
Requirements:
Previous background in school lunch programs, dietician experience, or early childhood development experience strongly preferred
Must be proficient in using software such Microsoft Word
Must demonstrate high level of customer commitment.
Must be able to multitask and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is helpful, but not required.
High school diploma and some college
