What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ed Tech / Admin Assistant position at The Morrison Center?
Morrison Center is hiring for combined role of Ed Tech & Administrative Assistant to join the strong teams in our special purpose schools in Scarborough and Wells.
This is a year-round position. Ed Techs work 8:30 am-2:30pm Monday through Friday with two afterschool staff meetings/professional time each week. The Administrative Assistant role will be completed daily from 8am-8:30am and from 2:30-4:30pm and during school breaks/closures.

Our school serves students with a variety of severe disabilities, including autism, physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and behavioral challenges. This program is able to meet the needs of students in creative and innovative ways, even providing peers through integration into community activities. Our multidisciplinary team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, BCBAs, and Special Education Teachers.
Ed Tech job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in planning and carrying out plans for students in both group and individual activities.
- Assisting in the development of students IEPs.
- Recording and maintaining student progress notes.
- Providing personal care, including activities of daily living skills and individual feeding and toileting programs.
- Helps to maintain and organize the classroom.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with supervisor, other members of the team, and parents.
- Contributes to a positive work environment that sustains or enhances the Center's positive image and reputation for service.
Administrative Assistant responsibilities include but limited to:
- retrieving messages and forwarding them to the appropriate staff
- filing, maintaining client charts
- mailing, sorting internal mail for staff
- ordering supplies as needed
- assisting administrators and teacher with tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be Certified as an Ed Tech II or III in the State of Maine; BHP Certification preferred.
- Must be able to assist in moving students and be able to move and react quickly to student needs and behaviors.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- ASL Skills a bonus!
Education:
Ed Tech III Certification requires 90 college credit hours and/or documented paid work experience. Ed Tech II Certification requires 60 college credit hours and/or documented paid work experience.

Pay:
Compensation structure is dependent on certification level and experience and starts at $19.00/hour
