What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of People (HYBRID) position at The MX Group?

We are looking for a People Leader to play a key role in helping us define our culture and bring it to life across our teams in a way that our clients can feel and we can celebrate. Our People Leader will develop the talent within MX to elevate our work and increase the impact we make for clients. Our People Leader will help us grow as people and as a company.

This person will set a vision and lead a team that supports the continued evolution of MX's people function. They will be a champion for relationships and connections across our team and with our clients. Believing that remote work is a benefit and understanding that creativity is a team sport that requires in-person interaction is a prerequisite for this position. Our People Leader must align with the company's values and understand the importance of reinforcing these values in every initiative and interaction.

Top 4 Focus Areas:

Manage a modern hybrid workforce: We have MX'ers who work in-person, remotely within the Chicagoland area and across the U.S. We believe in the value of in-person collaboration to build relationships, trust, and to create great work. Our People Leader will help us better understand the makeup of the workforce and develop ideas and strategies to increase collaboration at the correct points in time, improving the quality and experience of doing the work.

Demonstrating a growth mindset in a learning & development culture: Drive a professional and organizational growth mindset across MX so our people thrive and the company scales. Our People Leader will design and implement a growth model and development program across the organization. They will work with subject matter experts to ensure our people are motivated by their leaders and inspired by the opportunities within B2B.

Ownership of the full talent lifecycle: Drive an engaging employee experience across the recruit-retain-retire lifecycle to include Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Talent Operations.

Living our vision & mission: Partner with leadership to enhance the culture and drive organizational change to support the mission, vision and values of the Agency. Culture leader, supporting and driving employee communications, engagement and evolving our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs.

What you bring:

  • 10 years of progressive HR management experience (advertising agency experience required)
  • Success leading Talent Management, Performance Management, DEI, HRIS, Employee Relations, Learning & Development and other critical HR initiatives
  • A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion with an openness to new ideas and perspectives
  • High energy and passion for building a people centric, high performing culture
  • An ability to align people strategy with business strategy, including the ability to present, influence and collaborate at the leadership level
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Master's degree in HR and SHRM certification is a plus)
