Job Summary


The primary focus of this position is in Title and Claims, while serving in a supporting capacity for the other areas. This position is designed to provide the background and basic knowledge needed to develop the skills to progress to an examiner position with focus in one of the specific departments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains, updates, and researches policy title including Owner changes, beneficiary changes, Assignments, and special Restrictions.
  • Conducts policy title traces as needed to establish proper title to policy ownership, assignments, or current beneficiary interest of the policy. Assists other areas of the Company in addressing Title issues involved in all manner of request including Surrenders, 1035 Exchanges, withdrawals, policy changes, fund changes/transfers, 3rd party authorizations, and policy application.
  • Clearly and comprehensively answers verbal and written inquiries from other areas of the company, requesting clarification of questions, appropriate documentation, and any other information needed to make a correct and informed decision
  • Must maintain appropriate attendance.
  • Receives calls from internal and external customers and resolves inquiries over the phone and in writing.
  • Participates in projects as required by management.
  • Performs quality control functions as needed.
  • Identifies and documents Anti Money Laundering (AML) through the Matter Under Inquiry (MUI) procedure.
  • Assists in the accurate update of all procedures.
  • Maintains production level and quality level as dictated by departmental guidelines.
  • Recommends and assists in implementing procedural changes to enhance profitability and productivity.
  • Reports common errors and/or pattern of title errors to Manager and suggests corrective action of same.
  • Advocates for the use of the Preferred Client Account for payment to beneficiaries whenever it is appropriate.
  • Performs accounting reconciliation functions for the Department.
  • Requires independent research and follow through. As regulatory environment changes, may be responsible for researching and coordinating new issues and/or regulatory concerns.
  • Responsible for team telephone goals and service levels.
  • Understands and supports corporate initiatives and relationships.
  • Promotes a team environment that is supportive of corporate changes.
  • Works with numerous and varied contacts inside and outside the Company, including agents and field representatives, other insurance companies for Reinsurance matters, Legal and Underwriting, outside investigators, Customer Service operation, third party administrators, vendors and Medical providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Exercises sound judgment when dealing with customers who voice a complaint, appeal or request exception handling
  • Understanding of corporate organization as a whole, as a high degree of interaction is required among all departments including Actuarial Understanding, Law Agents, Financial Administrative Services
  • Effective math and analytical skills
  • Pursues Industry designations through continuing education courses such as LOMA, ICA, and FINRA
  • Strong adaptability skills and ability to accept change

The compensation for this position falls within Nassau’s salary band B: $30,000-$60,000
