- $15.38 - $16.50 per hour
- 37.5-hour work week
- M – F, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (with possibility of one evening per week Noon – 8:00 PM)

POSITION: Intake Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Intake Coordinator is responsible for the completion of the registration process for clients referred to The Neighborhood Center Behavioral Health Clinics. The Intake Coordinator is often the first employee that new clients encounter and is focused on client relationship building and engagement in services, in addition to completing the requirements of the intake process. The Intake Coordinator also assists in addressing financial barriers to ongoing treatment for open clients, including but not limited to insurance coverage issues and outstanding account balances.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiates contact with referred clients to complete a preliminary triage, including risk assessment, to determine the acuity of needs.
- Collects and documents required clinical, financial, and demographic data from referred clients and referral sources within required timeframes.
- Provides necessary information to the billing department for insurance eligibility verification.
- Identifies the most appropriate therapist based on the client’s demographic profile, the reason for referral, the therapist's areas of interest and expertise, as well as caseload sizes and schedules.
- Schedules intake appointments within the appropriate time frame based on the type of referral.
- Provides a singular point of contact for referents and clients in regard to barriers to initial engagement in services.
- Works with the Clinical Supervisor around case assignments as needed.
- Provides reception for walk-in clients and urgent referrals as needed.
- Collaborates with clients, clinic management, the billing department, and Insurance Navigators to resolve financial barriers to treatment.
- Provides receptionist coverage as needed.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proven strong interpersonal skills to interact comfortably with the population served by the program as well as agency staff.
- Experience in data entry and proven accuracy in data entry skills.
- Possess time-management skills and attention to detail necessary to perform a variety of duties with accuracy.
- Organized and experienced in the thorough follow-up of work tasks.
- Experience in prioritizing and complex problem-solving in collaboration with others.
- Proven ability to be flexible and work independently.
- Proven ability to effectively manage difficult situations and/or individuals during conflicts.
- Understanding of mental health clinic services and knowledge of its clerical functions.
- Possess competent computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- An Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science or a closely related field and (2) years of secretarial experience.
OR
- A high school diploma or GED and four (3) years of secretarial experience.
- Experience in medical and/or behavioral health billing preferred.
